Pizzolito goes for his third Crown in Desafío Ruta 40

The Honda rider has already confirmed he will be part of the first Dakar Series of the year from May 17 to 23. His aim is pretty clear “to defend his title”. Javier Pizzolito was the best one in bikes in 2011 and 2014; and this year he is looking to add titles.

The sixth edition of Desafío Ruta 40 is getting closer and the list of entrants is getting longer and longer not only in numbers but also quality. The last bike’s champion, Javier Pizzolito was one of the first ones to confirm his place in the start ramp in Catamarca.

The Honda rider has had an exclusively pre-season training when thinking about the first round of the Argentine Championship of Cross Country Rally. “I participated in the Summer Enduro Challenge knowing that a cross country rally in the sand would come the idea was to gain speed in this surface” stated the one from Pinamar.

Once again, Desafío Ruta 40 will be part of the Dakar Series calendar together with Desafío Guaraní and Desafío Inca, so this will be a key competition for competitors who want to go for the 2016 edition of Rally Dakar. “The idea is to do the whole CARCC and that the team is complete in all Dakar Series”, pointed out Pizzolito.

“Navigation is an art that is learnt every day, one improves, I cannot say I have learnt it all”, said the DR40 winner by making reference to the navigation course he is teaching with the Quads 4×4 rider, Daniel Mazzucco.

Withing the category there are important names like the French rider David Casteu, and Pizzolito knows the level is always going up in Desafío Ruta 40 and he is putting everything into it: “No doubt the aim is to defend the title and we know there will be very good competitors but I have gone through a pre-season and I feel very good”, said the rider who will keep training in Pinamar until the beginning of the race.
